FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT 5 MASON COUNTY
Chairperson Griffey called the meeting of March 22, 2006, to order at 10:00 A.M. Present were Commissioners Taylor and Huff and Assistant Chief Tim McKern Sr.
The minutes of the meeting of March 8 2006 were read. MOTION MADE BY TAYLOR AND SECONDED BY HUFF TO APPROVE THE MINUTES AS CORRECTED. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Visitor: Bob Clifford or Comfort, Davis and Blangy reviewed our insurance renewal that is effective April 1, 2006 and the premium is $39,253.00. A brief questions and answer period followed.
Correspondence: The Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) sent a reminder notice to the Commissioners to file financial reports with the PDC office by April 17.
The Mason County Auditor notified us that we will be required to store our paid vouchers and associated paper records on our premises instead of at the county archive area. They will be requesting us to pick up our boxes in the near future.

General Information: The plans for a Medic Unit vehicle purchase is to attend a vendor rodeo at the Grapeview School March 28 at 7 P.M. Three ambulance vendors will be there. Once a vehicle is identified we will either have to go through a bid process of work with another district that already has a bid on a similar vehicle. It could take up to 90 days once a vehicle is ordered to be able to take delivery of it. Discussion followed.
The meeting was temporarily suspended at 10:50 A.M. to call a Board for Volunteer Firefighters to order. The meeting adjourned and the regular meeting reconvened at 10:55 A.M.
The vouchers were reviewed. MOTION MADE BY HUFF AND SECONDED BY TAYLOR TO APPROVE FOR PAYMENT VOUCHER # 21536 TOTALING $148,488.05 FOR PAY AND BENEFITS FOR MARCH 2006. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
MOTION MADE BY HUFF AND SECONDED BY TAYLOR TO APPROVE FOR PAYMENT VOUCHERS #21537 THROUGH AND INCLUDING #21578 TOTALING $36,016.36 FOR OPERATIONS AND TRUSTEED PLANS. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Mr. Brokaw asked about the payment schedule for the insurance policy. Can we pay quarterly? We will ask Bob Clifford that question.
Lt. FF Paul Andrews asked about the schedule for Firecom moving to Shelcom. Assistant Chief McKern advised him the fiber optics is scheduled for installation on March 28, 2006. Negotiations for other issues are ongoing. There is no definite date as of today.
The meeting adjourned at 11 A.M. until the next regular meeting scheduled for April 12, 2006.
