FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT 5 MASON COUNTY

 

Chairperson Griffey called the meeting of February 23 2005 to order at 10 A.M. Present were Commissioners Hauser and Taylor and Chief Knight.

 

The minutes of the meeting of 2/09/05 were read.  MOTION MADE BY TAYLOR AND SECONDED BY HAUSER TO APPROVE THE MINUTES AS READ. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

At 10:05 the meeting was moved to the front parking lot to look over Tender 5-3 and Engine 55. 

 

At 10:15 the meeting moved back to the meeting room.

 

Correspondence:   None

 

Assistant Chief Tim McKern provided an activity report dated 2/22/05. 

 

General Information: Part of a tape recording of an MVA, which resulted in a fatality, was played for information purposes.

 

Business for Consideration:

 

The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 9, 2005.  Due to a DEM exercise scheduled for that day, the board meeting date will be changed to Tuesday March 8 at 10 A.M.

 

Commissioner Taylor advised he would be unavailable to attend the next three meetings.  He plans to attend the last meeting of April 2005.

 

The boards second meeting in March is the 23rd.  After a brief discussion regarding possible conflicts and scheduled vacations it was agreed to leave the meeting date as scheduled.

 

The regular meeting was temporarily suspended at 10:30 A.M. to call a Board for Volunteer Firefighters to order.  The meeting adjourned at 10:32 and the regular meeting reconvened.

 

THE VOUCHERS WERE REVIEWED.  MOTION MADE BY HAUSER AND SECONDED BY TAYLOR TO APPROVE FOR PAYMENT VOUCHERS #20728 TOTALING $114,221.46.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. MOTION MADE BY HAUSER AND SECONDED BY TAYLOR TO APPROVE FOR PAYMENT VOUCHERS #20729 THROUGH AND INCLUDING # 20756 TOTALING $16,632.86.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS: There was a brief discussion on cell phone coverage in the county.

 

 

The meeting was adjourned at 10:40 A.M. until the next regular meeting scheduled for March 8, 2005.
